Health & Physical Education
All students at Kerang South Primary School participate in an hour of specialist Physical Education. Activities include; fundamental motor skills, major and minor games, dance, athletics, fitness and swimming.
In Grades P-2, the Fundamental Motor Skills program forms the basis of Physical Education lessons. Students develop their skills in running, jumping, throwing, catching, hitting and kicking to enable them to participate successfully in a variety of sports and activities.
In Grades 3-6, students build on and consolidate their fundamental motor skills by participating in a range of activities such as major games and ball handling activities. In addition to Physical Education lessons, students play sport once a week.
Sporting Opportunities at Kerang South
All students participate in the following sporting events throughout the year:
Winter Sports (Grades 4-6)
Successful students, (usually those in Grade 4-6) have the opportunity to compete at Zone, Mallee Zone and State Level in all sporting activities.
Jump Rope For Heart
Kerang South Primary School has a Jump Rope for Heart Demonstration Team.
A group of around 10 students in Grades 4-6 are involved in developing and performing a skipping routine to music using both long and short ropes.
